About the Artist
Fusyu (also known as Tomifune) is the ceramic name of Ms. Watanabe — a widely respected bonsai potter from Tokoname. She is the wife of Shouzan Watanabe and mother of Kazuhiro Watanabe (Ikko), both highly regarded in the bonsai pottery world.

Her handmade work is known for subtle elegance — often featuring rivets, horizontal bands, and a soft patina that gives each piece an aged presence. Fusyu’s commitment to hand-building and careful surface treatment has earned her a growing following, and her pots are increasingly viewed as future classics.
