Description
This exquisite Shohin-sized round bonsai pot by master potter Horie Biko showcases a stunning dual-tone glaze application. The upper section features a vibrant, crackled turquoise blue that transitions seamlessly into a much darker toned base, creating a rich visual anchor. The focal point is a distinctive raised medallion on the front, depicting a stylized Red Phoenix in relief with intricate detailing. The pot stands on subtle feet and reveals a fine, cream-colored clay body on the underside, typical of Biko’s refined craftsmanship.
The bold colors and ornamental nature of this pot make it an excellent choice for a powerful Shohin tree. It would pair beautifully with a flowering species like a Red Chojubai (Flowering Quince) or Satsuki Azalea to complement the medallion.
